    “Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. The state of the components are listed below.”

    If you do get the above message , it is worth trying the following

    [oracle@nexdbpr01 ~]$ emctl stop dbconsole

    Connect to the database as sys and change the sysman password

    SQL >alter user sysman identified by ;

    – SQL >exit

    – SQL >connect sysman/;

    go to $ORACLE_HOME/host_sid/sysman/config

    locate file ”emoms.properties” and backup this file

    open and locate ”oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwd”, replace the encrypted value by the value

    locate ”oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwdEncrypted”, replace TRUE by FALSE

    save file

    [oracle@nexdbpr01 ~]$ emctl start dbconsole

    – if you reopen ”emoms.properties” file, ”oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwd” is encrypted

    and the value ”oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwdEncrypted” is TRUE

    One thing to note is that before you run

    You also got to make sure that before you run
    [oracle@nexdbpr01 ~] emca -config dbcontrol db

    Make sure you can ping the host locally and remotely if conencting using a remote browser.
